Strasbourg - the Capital of Christmas

Strasbourg is self styled the Capital of Christmas. It is a place where the old traditional European connections are still very much in evidence.  It is the blend of German and French traditions, cuisine and architecture that gives a eclectic flavor . It is also said that the tradition of cutting and decorating a Christmas tree began here in the 1600's. Place Broglie becomes the market to seek a Christmas tree and Place Kleber is where a tall Christmas tree stands every year. The marché de Noël de Strasbourg is from 29th November to 23rd December.
