Strasbourg

Strasbourg is also referred to as the "Capital of Europe", the capital of Alsace and is the seat of Council of Europe, European Court of Human Rights and seat of the European Parliament. It is very central and on the border with Germany - this has made the architecture very interesting because of its heritage. Some people here also speak Alsatian, the local dialect which is similar to Germanic,

There is a lot to do in Strasbourg. Its not just the rich mixture of cultures with the German influence and the big expatriate communities because of its institutions - it is the big Germanic architecture and the quaint Alsation houses. Petite France has some of the prettiest houses on the Grande Île and is a lovely place to visit whatever season.

It is not a big city and very pedestrian and bike friendly. Strasbourg is very accessible with its extensive tramways and the buses are mostly accessible. Strasbourg is served by its own airport at Entzheim

You might already have an exact idea of what you want to do when you are here but if you do not, or you want to have nore ideas - here is a resource guide to attractions and whats on in Strasbourg.
