London sights and attractions

For the moment I am just adding links of places/sites of interests.

I am starting from the perspective of advising someone who might never have visited London or knows what to see in London. There will also be recommendations for visits out of the beaten track, although one argues if that is possible in a capital city like London. Here are some general sites to get a flavour of websites  already available to London visitors. I will also write my recommendations as I go along with access details.

Visit London attractions

London for fun

London South Bank

Museums in London - There are usually concessionary tickets for disabled people, companions go free.

these are the 'must see' museums if you are here only for a short time if museums are on your list but these are so renown they need no introduction

British Museum (Access Guide)

Tate Modern (Access Guide) My personal favourite

Victoria and Albert Museum (Access Guide)

Natural History Museum (good for kids) (Access Guide)

Science Museum (good also for kids) (Access Guide)

Places of worship -

Westminster Abbey - (Access Guide)this dates back to 1065 AD so it will be inaccessible in some areas but it is free for wheelchair users and their companions. And there is a tactile map if this would be useful.

Westminster Cathedral (Catholic) (Access Guide) - some services with British sign language

Shopping exclusively in London -

Harrods - map and directions. My favourite here is the food hall.  I think going to Harrods is an experience but I guess some people go there to shop.

Libertys Map and directions Liberty's for me what symbolises the quintessentially Englishness of English design.

Westfield Shopping Center Directions Reportedly the biggest of its kind in Europe
